Thought Leader Series presents:

Dustin Carper
Digital Strategist

TMPers are more than employees. We are consultants and thought leaders. Meshworking, TMP’s company blog, is where we showcase our expertise, talk shop, and discuss industry trends and predictions for the future of recruitment marketing. Below is a blog excerpt from Dustin Carper, Digital Strategist for TMP Worldwide. Here, Dustin discusses how companies can use respect and integrity to set them apart in the “war for talent.”

Jordan Spieth lesson employment branding

A 21-year-old man who just won golf’s biggest tournament and a $1.6M purse was spotted thanking the volunteers for helping with the event, answering reporters’ questions in great detail, and giving his opponent a thumbs-up in the middle of the match? It’s this respect and integrity that will also set companies apart in the so-called “war for talent.” Here are 3 ways that we can learn from this:

  1. Be humble – By being humble and understanding the good and bad of working for your company, you are showing potential candidates that you respect them to make their own decisions.
  2. Play the game the right way – I think potential candidates see through companies boasting about themselves, and would be much more comfortable making their own decisions instead of being beaten over the head.
  3. Don’t ever be satisfied – We need to constantly be trying to improve the candidate experience and constantly be striving to get better.
