TMP Presents the Human Capital Global Leadership Series

February 28

On Friday, January 21st, another winter storm threatened New York City. Despite the threat, over 45 intrepid HR Leaders ventured out into the storm to attend the first 2011 session of TMP Worldwide's New York office Human Capital Global Leadership Series. The inaugural session, From Recession to Recovery — The Competitive Advantage addressed top-of-mind HR issues as employers plan staffing initiatives while emerging from the recent recession.

A cross section of workforce-related thought leaders including Dr. Phil Gardner, Director of Collegiate Employment Research Institute; James Brown, Research Director, NYS Department of Labor; Kim Allenbach, Director of Employee Experience, Verizon Wireless and Todd Maycunich Vice President, Media and Analytics, TMP Worldwide presented their findings on the state of workforce planning in 2011.

As we are clearly in the information age, the underlying theme of the morning focused on using metrics to drive ROI. The perspective ranged from the macro, the state of national college recruitment, to a local NYC employment overview and to the more granular, the specific experience of a singular employer, Verizon Wireless.

Ms. Allenbach and TMP's Todd Maycunich demonstrated the level to which Verizon Wireless is able to track each hire back to individual media elements — allowing them to use empirical evidence to drive their purchasing decisions and media strategy. This had a profound impact on many in the audience who aspire to drive a higher ROI for their own programs. The presentations were followed by a dynamic and engaging panel discussion hosted by Charlie Herman of New York Public Radio.

The next session of the TMP Worldwide New York City Human Capital Global Leadership Series will be held on Friday, April 29th.  If you would like attend the next session, please contact Connie Mendelsohn at 646-613-2054.
