Encouraged by the success and interest generated in its first-ever online job fair held in May, TMP is holding another Network in World virtual job fair on August 21-23. Recruiters from Accenture, EMC, GE Money and U.S. Cellular—and job seekers looking to land positions at those companies—are engaging in real-life interviews and related recruiting activities on "TMP Island," TMP Worldwide's space within the popular Second Lifeâ„¢ virtual world.

"Because the results at our first event were so positive, and because the digital world moves so fast, we decided to accelerate our plans and host our second Network in World Job Fair this month," said Russell Miyaki, Vice President, National Digital Creative Director at TMP Worldwide.

The Network in World event offers real-world job opportunities in financial services, information technology, telecommunications, sales and management at the four participating companies. TMP is providing registered participants with training on how to interact inside the event, and job seekers will be sent via "telehubs" to a participating company's specific location on TMP Island, where they will meet and be interviewed by recruiters in virtual client offices. Michelle Abbey, President and CEO of TMP Worldwide, commented on the event's success by stating, "In May, TMP successfully realized one of its core goals by helping our clients use virtual technology as a way of meeting, recruiting and hiring bright, tech-savvy talent. The response and quality of the companies who plan to participate in our second NiW event—Accenture, EMC, GE Money and U.S. Cellular—is an excellent testament to the fact that we're doing the right thing."

"TMP believes the recruiting process should reflect what's going on in business—which is going digital," added Louis Vong, Vice President of Digital Strategy at TMP Worldwide.
