Dana Fitzgerald

Director of Operations, Development Studio East
TMP New York office

At the heart of TMP are the people. Employee reviews on Glassdoor routinely cite working with “smart people with a ton of experience” as a major pro of the job. In the Employee Spotlight series, we sit down with TMP employees from across the globe to learn more about who they are and what makes them tick. Get to know Dana Fitzgerald, Director of Operations- Development Studio East in the TMP New York office.

TMP: When did your TMP career begin?

Dana Fitzgerald: May 2008.

TMP: What is your current role and responsibilities and what does your team/department do?

DF: I am the Director of Operations managing the New York creative team. I help to manage the creative workflow and budgets and ensure we have enough resources available to create award winning, innovative creative that blows our clients’ minds.

TMP: What other roles have you had while at TMP?

DF: I started my career at TMP as a Project Manager in Chicago working on several accounts. In 2011, I moved to New York to work with Alec Drummond in the Marketing department. In Marketing, I helped launch the 2012 version of TMP.com, managed our social pages, planned our internal events and got to know every single member of our sales team. They are all lovely! I moved down the hall to creative in 2013. A career-pathing tool would likely not spit out the zigzag path that TMP has helped me take in the last 8 years.

TMP: What advice would give to new employees?

DF: Be prepared to work hard. If you work hard and work well with others, you will celebrate many successes here. No one can do it all alone, and lucky for you, you are surrounded by smart, creative and fun co-workers.

Also, grow your relationships. Your colleagues are who will see you through rough spots, and celebrate your successes. These relationships will serve you for years to come and this entire company is built on those strong relationships.

TMP: What’s one interesting fact about yourself that your co-workers do not know?

DF: I will never turn down an invitation to a concert. Any concert. I will travel to see a show, I will stay up all night, and I will skip work. Not really that last part...I will take approved PTO. There are few things in life I like more than live music and a cold beer.
